How to take leave requests out of group chats without freezing the team for a month.
Keep the first week simple
Create the leave types you already use. Invite managers. Ask people to apply in Worq even if you still track balances in a sheet for one cycle.
The goal is one request, one approval, one calendar. Balances can follow.
Then load opening balances
When the chat volume drops, enter opening balances for the current cycle. New requests then decrement the same number managers already trust.
Attendance shows approved leave on that day so a punch on leave is visible instead of becoming a silent present.
What not to do
Do not run two official calendars. If someone still messages the group, point them at the request and close the thread.
